Commissioner and Staff
In October 2023, Ronan O’Leary was appointed as the Fair Practices Commissioner on an acting basis. Mr. O’Leary joined the Commission in January 2021 as the Deputy Commissioner.
Previously, Mr. O’Leary worked at the Office of the Ontario Ombudsman for ten years in a variety of investigative and management roles, including as the lead investigator for two complex systemic investigations.
Prior to moving to Canada in 2010, Mr. O’Leary completed his BCL and LLM degrees in University College Cork, Ireland. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2013.
Mr. O’Leary and the rest of the staff invite you to contact the Commission if you have any concerns about the service you received from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). We will do our best to help you or point you in the right direction.
The mission of the Fair Practices Commission is to facilitate fair, equitable and timely resolutions in individual complaints brought by workers, employers and service providers and to identify and recommend system-wide improvements to WSIB services.
